Perch Management Options EvaluationStatus: Ongoing Location: The Bay of Green Bay, Wisconsin Description: The Lake Michigan Forum, an advisory group to the Department of Natural Resources, has recommended that an evaluation of alternative management techniques be conducted in order to plan for appropriate management activities to deal with the reduced population of yellow perch and increasing population of white perch in Green Bay. These funds are used to convene a series of forums of perch experts to discuss and recommend management actions. Monitoring of PCB concentrations in the white perch population will help inform the agencies and the public on perch management issues. Benefits: The information gained in these sessions and through this monitoring will provide the basis for better fisheries management decisions relating to the use of future NRDA damages for this site, as well as management activities specific to perch.
