Lower Fox River OU1 Progress Reports

Annual Remediation Activities (RA) Summary Reports for the Lower Fox River (LFR) Operable Unit 1 (OU1) have been submitted on behalf of GW Partners, LLC, as part of the LFR OU1 RA. GW Partners, LLC, is a limited liability company formed by WTM I Company and P.H. Glatfelter Company to jointly perform the RA.

Annual RA Summary Reports are identified as part of the annual RA Work Plans. The annual RA Work Plans are a requirement of the Consent Decree (CD) for the LFR OU1 RA, which was entered into by WTM I Company and P.H. Glatfelter Company; the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA); and the State of Wisconsin, through the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR). The U.S. District Court entered the CD on April 12, 2004.

The RA Summary Reports provide detailed summaries of the work accomplished for each year identifying problems encountered, modifications to equipment and operation and evaluations of success toward achieving the goals of the annual RA Work Plans.

• The 2004 RA Summary Report [PDF 21.5MB] covers the first year of site preparation and sediment removal. The year provided initial testing of dredging, sediment dewatering, sediment disposal and wastewater treatment at a less than production-scale operation.
• The 2005 RA Summary Report covers the first year of production-scale sediment removal.
• The 2006 RA Summary Report covers the second year of production-scale sediment removal.
