Wisconsin 2010 Water Condition Assessment and Listing Report

Wisconsin's 2010 Water Quality Assessment and Impaired Waters Report will be published in April 2010. This report will provide a summary of overall water condition and updates to the state's list of impaired waters, reflecting analysis of 25 of the state's 330 watersheds and specific monitoring work conducted on targeted areas throughout the state. The report addresses four designated uses: Fish and Aquatic Life, Fish Consumption, Recreation, and Public Health and Welfare. The result is a snapshot of water condition statewide, measured against expectations derived for each of the four key designations listed above. Severely degraded waters - identified through this process -- are added to Wisconsin's list of impaired waters as described in the Clean Water Act, Section 303(d). The timeline below reflects the general milestones for this work.
