Thanks for helping out by carrying out what you carried in!

There are numerous volunteer opportunities available at Governor Dodge. Volunteers serve as camp hosts, adopt a trail sponsors, naturalists, maintenance helpers, and Friends Group members. Submit a volunteer application and join our team.

Hunting

Hunters with special permits may hunt turkey, deer and small game in the park in season. Special regulations apply for each hunt.

See the maps of areas in the park open to deer, turkey, and small game hunting in season.

Due to the efforts to eliminate chronic wasting disease (CWD—the park is within the CWD Management Zone), gun deer hunting will occur October 15-18, 2009 (hunting ends at noon each day), and again from November 21 through December 13, 2009 (regular hunting hours). Archery deer hunting will run continuously October 15 through January 3, 2010. Permits are required and available at the park office.

Limited small game hunting is permitted in the park November 1 through December 15, 2009, (except where statewide or regional seasons end earlier for specific species). All small game hunting closes at noon each day. Species which may be hunted are limited to crow, pheasant, raccoon, red and gray fox, coyote, cottontail rabbit, gray and fox squirrel, duck, Canada Goose, and woodcock. Permits are required and available at the park office.
