Red Cedar State Trail Conditions

Conditions as of Tuesday, October 7, 2009:

The Depot at the trailhead in Menomonie is open on weekends only through the end of October. The water fountain at the Downsville Rest Area is closed for the season.

Anyone 16 years or older who is biking is required to purchase a state trail pass before using the trail. Trail users may purchase a trail pass at the self-registration station in Menomonie or in Downsville if no trail attendant is present.

Hunting

In general, Red Cedar State Trail is closed to hunting. However, the trail is open to hunting in season in the Dunnville Wildlife Area, which is the last 2 miles on the south end of the trail. This is the section from County Highway Y south to the Chippewa River Trail.
