Lake Superior Basin Environmental Protection"To protect and enhance our natural resources: our air, land and water; our wildlife, fish and forests and the ecosystems that sustain all life" has always been a part of our mission. A number of recent studies studies have shown a positive connection between the environmental protection and economics. One example is the effect that resource protection has on increasing the worth of land. On a broader scale, studies have shown that states with the best environmental records also offer the best job opportunities and climate for long-term economic development. Wisconsin has consistently ranked as a top performer nation-wide for both economic and environmental health! This points to the importance of understanding the interaction between ecological and human systems. Environmental Protection: "in this partnership consider the future and generations to follow."
