November 29. Project WILD/Aquatic WILD Professional Development Training. Milwaukee Public Museum, Milwaukee. 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. A nationwide K-12 environmental education program consisting of activity guides and supplementary environmental education materials for K-12 classrooms, youth groups, home schools, and nature centers. Project WILD/AQUATIC encompasses over 165 hands-on environmental education activities. Easy to adapt for preschool ages. Participants receive: Project WILD K-12 Activity Guide (537 pages), Project WILD Aquatic Activity Guide (269 pages) and many other posters and supplements. Cost: $45. January 21. Groundwater Workshop for Educators. Eau Claire. Educators from schools and nature centers that provide environmental programs for students (grades 6-12) are invited to apply for a free groundwater sand tank flow model along with training in the use of the model and materials to expand or improve their environmental education or science education program. Eight models will be given away at each of 3 workshops. To be eligible to receive a model, two teachers from a school or nature center must complete the application describing how they would use the model in their classrooms. Deadline: November 1, 2008.

January 31. Project Learning Tree – Early Childhood Professional Development Training. Milwaukee Public Museum, Milwaukee. 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., PreK-8. Educators are raving about the Wisconsin Project Learning Tree (PLT), an award-winning environmental education program for PreK-8 formal and nonformal educators. Designed for all educators and naturalists, participants will receive six hours of instruction, ideas, hands-on activities and the PLT Activity Guide (over 400 pages). Cost: $45.
