Your Investment in Natural Resources

Wisconsin offers some of the best hunting and fishing recreation in North America.

People from all 50 states come here to deer hunt and why nonresident anglers spend more time fishing in Wisconsin than anywhere else but Florida.

We have great hunting and fishing opportunities for many reasons, including Wisconsin's geography and glacial history as well as the DNR's nationally recognized fish and wildlife management programs.

But the most important reason is you. When you buy hunting and fishing licenses and stamps, and pay a federal excise on your purchases of hunting and fishing equipment, all of that money goes directly to pay for the management and enforcement activities that make Wisconsin hunting and fishing among the best anywhere.

We Appreciate Your Input!

To continue receiving Wisconsin's share of the federal excise tax you pay when you buy hunting and fishing equipment, DNR updated it's Fish, Wildlife and Habitat Management Plan for 2007-2013.

In spring 2007, we asked in a survey for you to share your thoughts on natural resource issues and priorities Wisconsin's plan should address.

Here's what you told us: Survey Results Summary

The plan was approved by the Natural Resources Board and accepted by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in June, 2007.

Thanks for Your Support

Hunters' and anglers' longtime commitment to conservation has allowed Wisconsin to offer some of North America's best hunting and fishing. Wisconsin can continue maintaining the hunting and fishing opportunities you enjoy and assure that they're there for your children and grandchildren.
