White and green ash acount for 14%. Ratio of growth to removalsNet annual growth of trees (4.7 million cubic feet) in the Illinois Fox GMU exceeds annual removals (0.7 million cubic feet) by 559%. Quaking aspen and black oak each account for about 36% of removals. Habitat typeHalf of all timberland in the Illinois Fox GMU is classified as dry mesic to mesic. Another 16% is either mesic-wet mesic or lowland. Undefined habitat types are common in this GMU due forestland fragmentation and human impacts.
