Division of Forestry

Wisconsin's 16 million acres of forestlands and millions of urban trees are managed and cared for by a variety of stewards including the DNR-Division of Forestry, the U.S. Forest Service, forest industries, individual private landowners, and the state's counties, cities, towns and villages. State-owned forests make up just five percent of the total, while nearly 60 percent of Wisconsin's forestlands are privately owned by individuals and families.
