Forestry GIS InformationGeographic Information System (GIS) technology is in use at WDNR, Division of Forestry to enable timely, efficient, and effective access to information about the program’s management, science, protection and service resources. GIS tools are used to provide spatial data management, collection, analysis, and mapping capabilities to support DNR policy evaluation, decision-making, and program operations. The Forestry Division provides services to Wisconsin counties, private cooperators and the public to support the application of GIS technology within the state. Forestry also provides direction and GIS consultation to WDNR programs, public, private and non-profit forestry organizations assistance in problem solving, and ensuring that the information systems development project data deliverables are consistent with WDNR goals and policies. These pages are vehicles to share information on Forestry specific GIS data, maps and tools. There are a number of WDNR programs sharing GIS related information (DNR maps & aerial photos) through the agency-wide GIS site. Forestry GIS Contact Information
