Air Management Specialist

Duties

Conduct air quality impact analyses for project proposals. Conduct technical evaluations of ambient air quality using air quality dispersion models. Develop alternative proposals to minimize adverse impacts on air quality. Investigate complaints of poor air quality and recommend corrective measures. Inspect and evaluate locations and air emissions of mobile asphalt plants.

Required Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Chemistry and chemical makeup of air and effects of air pollutants on the environment. Atmospheric and biological sciences, including air pollution, human and plant health, and toxicology.

Desired Training

Graduation from a college or university with major courses in biological and ecological principles of environmental protection. Environmental health, chemistry, and atmospheric, environmental, earth, or life sciences.
