Duties

Review plans and specifications for municipal or industrial sewer collection systems and waste treatment facilities and approve or reject as appropriate. Develop and issue significant industrial discharge permits.

Required Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Sanitary sewer system and sewage treatment plant design; technical engineering principles, practices, terms, and symbols to examine and interpret plans, specifications, and technical reports.

Desired Training

Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or sanitary engineering (or a combination of the three) from an ABET-accredited program with relevant course work or experience in wastewater or water treatment design, hydrology, sanitary engineering, hydraulics, fluid mechanics, or verified equivalent.
