Historical Air Emission Information for Years 1985-2007The information provided on these webpages supplies information from 1985-2007 for air pollutants for which the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) has established National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) and for which the State of Wisconsin has established air quality standards. The Wisconsin criteria pollutant emissions as reported by year These air pollutants, also known as criteria pollutants, are carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), particulate matter (PM), particulate matter under 10 microns (PM10), Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC), and sulfur dioxide (SO2). Lead (Pb) is also a criteria pollutant but there are no significant lead emission sources in Wiscosin and so this air pollutant was not considered. Although USEPA promulgated a PM2.5 NAAQS in 1997, the implementation of this NAAQS was delayed until after litigation. This litigation was completed in 2003 and DNR has not completed rules that would require the reporting of PM2.5 facility emissions. Consequently there is no PM2.5 emission inventory information available on this website. The information provided on separate webpages for CO, NOx, PM, PM10, VOC, and SO2 includes:
