Logging In and Understanding the Air Reporting System
Logging into the Air Reporting System (ARS)
- Go to DNR Switchboard Page by clicking on this link.
- Choose “Log In To The Switchboard” on the left side navigation, enter your WAMS ID and password, click on the Login button, and then choose this facility If you are successful, you should again enter the Air Reporting System (ARS) software.
ARS Summary Reports, Rollup, & Calculator Buttons Explanation
In ARS choose “Summary Reports, Rollup, & Calculator’ on the left side navigation. You should see a page with the following buttons: View Submitted Report, View Final Report, Certification Form, Generate Draft Report, Rollup Data, and Calculator Details.
- Generate Final Report and Certify – This button is active. Clicking on this button will generate a final summary report of the data you supplied DNR the day you submitted this information.
- View Final Report – This button is inactive until after the final report is generated.
- I wish to certify – This button is active after a final summary report is generated. Clicking on this button generates a certification form in pdf format containing the facility ID, facility name, facility location, certification statement, and signature blocks for the facility owner or operator.
You will need to print this form, have it signed and sent back to DNR either by email or regular mail. Clicking on this button also saves
a final emission summary to the database.
- I do NOT wish to certify - This button is active after a final summary report is generate. Clicking on this button voids the
generation of a certification form in pdf format and the saving of the final summary report into the database.
- Generate Draft Report – Clicking on this button generates a draft summary report of the data in our database at the time you generate this report. This summary report may look identical to the ‘Submitted Report’ or very different if DNR made changes to the original data.
- Rollup Data – Clicking on this button will show you the emissions calculation for each pollutant at the source (SRC), device (DEV), or process (PRO) level Make use of the filter feature located above the table. Please note the show column in this table when the Level in the filter column is “SRC”. If a pollutant exceeds a reporting threshold in Table 1 of NR 438.03(3), Wis. Adm. Code, that pollutant is checked and the box is grayed out. Those pollutants will be presented on the “Draft Report” summary. If you want other pollutants below the reporting threshold printed on the Draft Summary then you must check the box for that pollutant.
- Calculator Details - The calculator also has a filter located above the table with the same three levels as the Rollup Data table: SRC, DEV, PRO. Besides the level filter, the other important filter is the Log Type filter which has the following drop down entries: PATH, RELEASE, BILLABLE, CFC GROUP, NOX GROUP, PM GROUP, ROG GROUP, SO2 GROUP, TOX GROUP, TRS GROUP, _CALCULATOR.
If you are interested in emissions calculations, choose either PATH or RELEASE from the Log Type dropdown. This function will work for the SRC, DEV, or PRO level.
If you are interested in billing information, choose a level of ‘All’ or ‘SRC’ and then choose a log type of either BILLABLE, CFC GROUP, NOX GROUP, PM GROUP, ROG GROUP, SO2 GROUP, TOX GROUP, TRS GROUP. Billable is used to see the fee assessment of a particular pollutant or all pollutants at the facility. The other log choices (CFC GROUP, NOX GROUP, PM GROUP, ROG GROUP, SO2 GROUP, TOX GROUP, TRS GROUP) are how the emission fees are grouped on your environmental fee statement. These groups are probably of marginal interest to you.
The _Calculator log type shows whether the calculator completed its calculation.
